About the Author

Some have asked, why the back cover author photo with Brandy, my raised from birth heifer? I am a graduate of the farmer school of theology—the Bible was written by common men for the common man and so I believe the “as it is written” truth was meant to be understood in its simplest form. We must take the time to study and pray for understanding and then just think the facts through while planting corn, mending the nets, or cooking the meals.

I was raised in and attended Pentecostal churches for fifty years and predisposed to the associate doctrines of experience-based theology as well as the pre-tribulation secret rapture position. Searching the scriptures to defend my positions revealed more contradictions than answers. Believing that the Bible was written by common men for the common man, I share my understanding of the “as it is written” truth in its simplest literal form. My books are the outcome of personal Bible study notes over two decades on the most controversial subjects—eschatology, the day-age creation theory, Spirit baptism, tongues, and experiences. The books seek to challenge the Christian church towards reformation through sound biblical teaching supportable by the facts of Scripture.

Statement of faith

I believe we are all sinners saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. I believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and of the resurrection of His body from the dead. I believe of the Trinity that there is only one God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, three distinct persons who are fully God and make up the Godhead. Without repentance there is no salvation and at that moment, we receive and are baptized with the Holy Spirit, “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:39 “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—” 1Corinthians 12:13 We are filled with the Holy Spirit when we are in communion with God and Spirit filling gives us special power to receive gifts for spiritual warfare as He wills, always for a purpose, for the benefit of the body of Christ and His glory. Gifts are not for our personal edification or satisfaction. I believe that prophecy; knowledge and tongues are direct revelation and teaching from God as He wills, not as we will. I believe the Bible is the infallible and complete Word of God, written by holy men of God who were moved by the Holy Spirit and is profitable for teaching and reproof and was once and for all delivered to the saints, you and I.

I believe as Acts 24:15 teaches, “…that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust” and that according to Revelation 20:5, these “both” are separated by one thousand years. I believe that there cannot be a resurrection before or during the tribulation because Revelation 20:5 teaches that the “first resurrection” is after the tribulation. 1Thessalonians 4:16-17 teaches, “…the dead in Christ will rise first [resurrection].Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up [rapture] together with them…” I believe that until there is a first resurrection, there cannot be a rapture of the church.
